Players Discounts to offer help for families

7 Elite Academy has joined forces with Players Discounts, a company set up by two former Marine FC players to bring exclusive discounts to players and parents.

The company was created by Ian Latham and Joe Fowler to support families in the grassroots community in Liverpool with a large range of savings on food, sporting goods and clothing.

Both Ian and Joe have worked in grassroots football for a number of years and are familiar with the pressures families face – not just in football, but elsewhere in their communities.

7 Elite Academy runs teams and community programmes for hundreds of youngsters in Liverpool, as well as a Player Pathway that offers regular opportunities to train, live and study in the United States.

Ian said: “I have known Anthony for a number of years through our time together at Marine and the grassroots football community in Liverpool is at the heart of everything he does.

“That is why we jumped at the chance of partnering with 7 Elite Academy and connecting with even more players and their parents. It is our aim to bring these discounts to as many families as possible.

“The discounts we offer are great for families within grassroots football, but they cover so much more. Our discounts also include food, clothing, days out and even Christmas gifts.

“The cost of living has made discounts like this more valuable than ever, especially as we approach the festive season. The football community is a fantastic way of helping people.”

Ian and Joe were at 7 Elite Academy’s Litherland Sports Park headquarters during training on Wednesday to meet parents and explain the benefits of the scheme.

Annual membership costs just £9.99 and personalised to each player. It is open to registered players from local grassroots and professional teams, with hundreds already signing up.

Anthony Godfrey, 7 Elite Academy Director, said: “I am so excited to work with Ian and Joe on such a worthy project. Together, we can help hundreds of families in the city.

“7 Elite Academy has players and families across the UK, USA and Africa, but the common thread is we always make sure our local communities are integral in everything we do.

“In the past, we have worked with food banks, military charities and countless community projects, so this is a natural extension of that work. At this time of the year, these companies are more important than ever.

“Many household names are signed up to Players Discounts, so families can benefit straight away from joining.”
