UK players will travel to Tournament in USA
7 Elite Academy UK will send a team of Under-14s and Under-15s players to two of the biggest international youth football events in the United States next February.
The youngsters will play in the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament in Utah on February 6-9, before travelling to Nevada for the Las Vegas Mayors Cup International Showcase.
They will face some of the best youth teams in United States during the tour, while also playing in front of college recruiters and professional academy scouts.
The trip is part of 7 Elite Academy’s Player Pathway programme, which creates regular opportunities to secure college scholarships in the USA and academy trials.
In 2024, over 70 players from the UK traveled to the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament—a number that is expected to be far greater in 2025.
Further high-profile teams from the United Kingdom and beyond are expected to confirm their appearance at the tournaments in coming weeks.
Anthony Godfrey, Global Academy Director at 7 Elite Academy, said: “We’re incredibly excited for a group of our Under-14s and Under-15s to experience these prestigious tournaments in the United States next February.
“Competing against talented teams from around the world in some of the most impressive venues in the USA will be a significant test of their skills and resilience.
“Beyond the competitions, this trip represents so much more than just soccer. It will open up opportunities for education, personal development, and potential pathways into professional soccer for our players.”
The trip will include visits to regional colleges and universities, where players will have the chance to meet with college recruiters and professional club scouts.
One of the key highlights of the upcoming tournaments is a new partnership between the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament and the Las Vegas Mayors Cup.
This partnership covers accommodation and registration costs for overseas teams participating in both events, further boosting the appeal for international teams.
Billy Vaughan, UK Coordinator for 7 Elite Academy, added: “Having watched many of these players develop from a young age, I know they fully deserve this chance to compete on the international stage.
“This experience will not only create lifelong memories and friendships but also provide vital exposure to coaches and recruiters that could shape their futures.
“In preparation for the trip, the team will be engaging in fundraising activities within the community to help cover their travel costs.
“We’re also planning for more teams across various age groups to join the trip, making it a truly unforgettable experience for our academy players.”
The 7 Elite Academy International Tournament will take place in Utah from February 6th to 9th, while the Las Vegas Mayors Cup International Showcase will be held in Nevada from February 15th to 17th.
Both tournaments present unparalleled opportunities for young athletes to compete at a global level, while exploring potential college and professional soccer careers.
