7 Elite Academy has welcomed players back to Liverpool following a six-month tour of the United States and Africa as part of the organisation’s educational opportunities pathway.

The youngsters, who all train with 7 Elite Academy UK in the city, have made regular trips to America and South Africa, playing in tournaments and coaching local youngsters.

The tournaments included college showcase events in Utah, California and Florida with 7 Elite Academy’s SABA 04 Boys, resulting in several offers for scholarships at leading United States universities.

During a recent trip to South Africa, the players coached over 200 youngsters and played games against local schools.

7 Elite Academy runs coaching and educational programmes for thousands of players in the United Kingdom, United States and Africa.

Anthony Godfrey, Global Technical Director at 7 Elite Academy, praised the professional conduct of the players throughout each trip.

He said: “We gave these four lads an opportunity to play in some fantastic tournaments in the United States and Africa, and they all grabbed it with both hands.

“Their attitude and conduct over the last six months has been exemplary, both within games and training sessions, as well as coaching younger players. I am so proud of them.

“These opportunities to travel the world, experience different cultures and secure college scholarships are open to all our players here in the UK.

“We are in unique position, in that we have academies in the USA, Tanzania and South Africa. That means we have the infrastructure already in place to offer these experiences.”

The players, who now have the task of sifting through numerous scholarship and coaching offers, included Dylan Seddon, Jack Pearce, Lucas Allan and Oliver Byrne.

Godfrey added: “The lads played in six high-profile college showcase tournaments during their time in the United States and scholarship offers have followed as a result.

“These offers are crucial to their futures within football, as they look for educational and coaching pathways when they leave college.

“This investment in players in the UK will continue as we look to secure the right opportunities for all our youngsters who play for us here in Liverpool.”

Dylan Seddon, who also plays for 7 Elite Academy’s Player Pathway partners AFC Liverpool Under-21s, said: “I can’t thank 7 Elite Academy enough for giving me this opportunity over the last six months.

“I’d been a massive confidence booster for me here in England and in the USA. There have been so many great moments that will help me in the future.”

Oliver Byrne, who also plays for AFC Liverpool, added: “I just want to thank 7 Elite Academy for the opportunity for me and the lads.

“We’ve explored most of America and met some great coaches and players. We’ve made friends for life.”
