Former Liverpool and England World Cup defender Stephen Warnock will continue to represent 7 Elite Academy as Global Ambassador for the next two years.

Warnock has agreed an extension to his agreement with 7 Elite Academy, which runs football teams, training and educational programmes in the United Kingdom, United States and Africa.

Since joining 7 Elite Academy as ambassador in 2020, he has worked with thousands of young people, offering coaching and advice gained from his 16-year career in professional football.

The former Aston Villa, Leeds and Blackburn Rovers star has also carved out a career as a highly-regarded media football pundit, regular appearing on Sky Sports, BBC and NBC.

Warnock said: “It was a very easy decision for me to continue my role as Global Ambassador with 7 Elite Academy for the next two years.

“I have worked with some great young people in the United Kingdom and United States over the last few years and I really enjoy seeing them make the most of their potential.

“It has been impressive to see the growth of 7 Elite Academy since I joined, and that will continue as more and more youngsters benefit from heavy investment in opportunities.

“The sheer enjoyment that players get from playing football and getting the right guidance is brilliant to see. 7 Elite Academy is in the right position to keep offering top level coaching and careers advice.”

Warnock regularly holds coaching masterclass sessions for youngsters in the United States and will attend the 7 Elite Academy International Tournament – featuring over 250 teams – in Utah and Nevada next February.

7 Elite Academy Director, Anthony Godfrey, was delighted to renew Stephen’s agreement.

He said: “Stephen offers a high level of experience and football knowledge that not only helps our players, but our staff as well. It is great that he will continue working with us.

“7 Elite Academy continues to invest in the futures of young people, both within football and their communities. Stephen is key to the development projects we run at all our training locations.

“We have seen a massive amount of growth over the last twelve months and it is exciting that so many players are able to benefit. That doesn’t just include football, but also facilities that entire communities can enjoy.”
