Josh’s training is just the ticket for Crewe
7 Elite Academy’s coaching programme has been praised by the father of a youngster who is set to join one of British football’s best professional academies.
Josh Green joined Crewe Alexandra’s youth academy at Christmas after catching the eye of scouts with several fine performances in goal for 7 Elite Academy UK’s Under-14s.
Crewe’s development system has produced a string of established international players since the 1980s, including Danny Murphy, Rob Jones and Dean Ashton.
And following Josh’s recruitment by the Gresty Road outfit, his father John was full of praise for 7 Elite Academy, which runs hundreds of youth football teams in the USA, UK and Africa.
He said: “As a coach and a parent of two boys who play a lot of football, I have been around a lot of people in the game and I have to say the coaching Josh has received at 7 Elite Academy has been second to none.
“Every session is well planned and methodically delivered, whilst keeping the boys engaged. Match day game plans for the boys are a pleasure to watch and hear being delivered personally, and half time tactical changes have always reaped reward.
“The team competes in very physical and technical leagues, which is what drew Josh to the team and their league standings is testament to the standard of coaching and ability of boys.”
Josh is the latest 7 Elite Academy player to be spotted by a top club, after 7EA East Africa youngster Shafii Omary Lumambo was recruited by Tanzanian Premier League side Kagera Sugar.
7 Elite Academy strives to provide opportunities for youngsters both within football and away from the game, as part of a comprehensive development curriculum.
His move is part of a partnership between 7 Elite Academy and parents to help young soccer players develop and ultimately join professional clubs.
John added: “The safe environment that the coaches have tirelessly created has pleased me immensely. It’s a very difficult skill to create a winning mentality whilst also creating an inclusive environment for all to prosper within, which 7 Elite Academy UK has managed to do
“Josh has always been made to feel very welcome. The support and praise the family has received whilst he’s been dipping in out of team for trials has been amazing.
“It took some of the pressure off us all during this period and helped him to take his football to the next level. I have loved watching Josh train and play for 7 Elite Academy and I know Josh has enjoyed every minute of it too.
“He has had lots of support and gained skill and confidence from all at 7 Elite Academy, which me and his mum would like to thank every parent, coach and amazing set of players for.”
